Blood-Horse - bloodhorse.com/

The main magazine for the Thoroughbred industry, BloodHorse.com is the best source for news. They have lists of the leaders in practically every category imaginable, links to other sites of interest, a detailed stallion registry...to be honest, I've been a regular visitor for well over a year and I still feel like I haven't seen much of what it offers.
National Thoroughbred Racing Association - ntra.com/

The national association in charge of racing, the NTRA has a number of educational articles on their website. They also have a schedule of stakes races and a number of other neat things on their website.
The Horse - www.thehorse.com/

A general horse site, The Horse has a lot of articles on all aspects of the equine industry. A membership is required to access most older articles, but it's free. They also tend to have a great newsfeed for most aspects of the industry.
Thoroughbred Owner and Breeder Association - www.toba.org/

A great organization, one of TOBA's interests is getting people involved with the breed. As a result, there are some great educational articles on their website. There's also a complete listing of graded stakes races, as well as a nice list of websites.
Wikipedia - en.wikipedia.org/

Don't discount every college student's favorite impromptu research site! Wikipedia has a number of articles about racehorses, races, and everyday things. I often uses Wikipedia to find out specifics on races. There's even a category, "Horse Races By Type" that is extremely useful. If you're wanting to make a racecard, Wikipedia should be on your list of sites to visit.
